News from Czech RepublicOur job in November 2008 This month we were retrieving information about The beginnings of religion in the Czech Republic. We were meeting together and agreed on what way we are going to work. The teacher Mrs. Lukašíková visited Prague with group of pupils. They went sightseeing and took some photos of the sights. After that the pupils were making posters under the supervision of their teacher Mrs. Mikošková. In History, Civics and English lessons we were processing information concerning this topic. The pupils were preparing the test of The beginnings of religion in the Czech Republic and the teacher Mrs. Seidelmannová was helping them with translation.
Our next product - the exhibition of informative posters has been made Before the meeting in Turkey our pupils were searching the Internet for information about Germany, Poland, Turkey and Slovakia. In Geography the pupils got to know more about our partners of participating in the project. In early September we prepared a bulletin board concerning our project Comenius. We have made out to some photos, flags, maps and further information of our partner´s countries. After we returned from Turkey we prepared an exhibition of several photos and information about our visit. The pupils wrote articles about our visit in Turkey.
Diary In February we collected materials for assembling the diary. In Civics a group of pupils searched for information of our most important holidays. In Art the other group painted several pictures about these holidays and their customs. Finally we sorted out all our materials in the Diary and attached some photos too. After that we sent the diary to the Slovak school.
Album In March we created an album Sacred Monuments of our countries. At first we looked up information about the most beautiful sacred monuments in our country. We used some photos from our visit of Prague in October and we visited other important places. From all these materials we chose 4 important sacred monuments and the group of pupils painted several pictures of them. We put together everything in the album and then sent it to Germany.
Wedding ceremony In March we started the last activity in this school year. A group of pupils rehearsed the wedding ceremony. At first the teachers met pupils and discussed wedding process and customs. Next determined who will be the bride, bridegroom, bride´s and bridegroom´s mother and father, witnesses, waiter and others. After several weeks we made a film about a wedding ceremony in the church with a priest and in the restaurant (school dining-room) too. The film director helped us with it all. After that we added subtitles to this short documentary film and the pupils created the cover for the CD. In the end we´re going to add other films of partner´s schools.
